Terms and Conditions:

1. The interest shall be computed based on the actual number of days in a year i.e. 365 days for a non-leap year and 366 days for a leap year. The tenor of the Fixed Deposit shall be calculated in number of days.

2. In case of premature withdrawal or partial withdrawal of the Liquid Plus Fixed Deposit, interest shall not be paid at the originally contracted rate. In such cases, interest shall be paid at the applicable rate of interest for the duration for which the fixed deposit is maintained with us.

3. Minimum tenor for Liquid Fixed Deposits is 7 days. No interest shall be paid in case premature withdrawal is made within 7 days.

4. For all Non-Cumulative Fixed Deposits, interest shall be calculated on simple interest basis.

5. Interest payouts are as per financial year. Monthly Interest payouts will be on 1st of every month, Quarterly Interest payouts will be on the 1st of every quarter, Half-yearly payouts will be on 1st October & 1st April.

6. The Minimum Value of a retail Fixed Deposit is ₹ 10 lakh and Maximum Value is Below ₹ 3 crore. The Minimum Value of a bulk Fixed Deposit is ₹ 3 crore and Maximum Value is upto ₹ 200 crore.

7. The booking and partial withdrawal of the Liquid Plus Fixed Deposit can only be done in the banking hours by visiting the Branch. The same cannot be done through mobile banking application or internet banking portal in any scenario whatsoever.

8. In case of partial withdrawal of the Liquid Plus Fixed Deposit, value of fixed deposit after the partial withdrawal should be equal to or more than the minimum fixed deposit value as stated above or as changed by the Bank from time to time.

9. In case of withdrawal of fixed deposit (partial or full), the Bank shall endeavor settle the amount on T + 0 basis only in case the client has Current / Savings Account with the Bank. The said turnaround time shall change in case any event occurs which is beyond the control of the Bank.

10. Taxes, duties, levies or other statutory dues and charges applicable in connection with the benefits accruing as per the terms of these Fixed Deposits will be recoverable from the Customer.

11. Above rates will be applicable for all Resident Individual and Non Individual clients (no preferential rates are applicable for Senior Citizens or Bank’s employees under this product).

12. Rates are subject to change from time to time without prior notice.

13. Overdraft facility is available on the Liquid Plus Fixed Deposit. For more details, please contact your nearest Branch.

14. The Bank shall have the absolute discretion to amend or supplement any of the Terms and Conditions at any time. The Bank may communicate the amended Terms to the customer. By continuing the Fixed Deposit with the Bank and using allied services, the Customer shall be deemed to have accepted the changed Terms and Conditions and any new terms and conditions stipulated by the Bank and/or its.

Bangalore, 20th July 2017: Janalakshmi Financial Services (JFS), India’s largest Microfinance Company, is a proud recipient of ‘India’s Distinctive Goodwill Brands Award’ for the year 2017. The organisation, which recently received licence to operate as a Small Finance Bank has won the award in the Integrated Financial Services Category. Some of the past winners of this award include LIC, HDFC, Shriram Capital, Edelweiss, ICICI, SBI, Aspire Home Finance, Kotak and many other leading financial institutions.

The award, organised by Herald Global – ERTC Media under the banner ‘Thought Leadership Symposium Champion of Change’, was received by Janalakshmi at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai. Mrs. Chaity Sen, Publishing Director, Herald Global – ERTC Media and Dalip Tahil, Veteran Indian Film Actor presented the award to Janalakshmi Financial Services.

Goodwill Brands 2017 is a listing of the brands that have created a significant impact on their consumers in terms of loyalty, trust, reliability, and image at a faster pace over the last few years.

JFS was shortlisted among 500 applicants across India after three phases of research. The first phase of research comprised of the secondary research by evaluating the industry reports, market surveys and brand reports and any other available source of the industry information. The second phase shortlisted contestants through an in-depth primary survey conducted among the target audience through parameters such as Trust, Image, Sustainability, Goodwill etc. The Final Phase involved the scrutiny by jury members and editorial team. Recipients of India’s Distinctive Goodwill Brands Awards were acknowledged in 25 categories for doing extremely well in their respective categories.

Recently, JFS also won an award in the category of ‘Best Financial Sector Transaction’ by ADB Private sector-CNBC awards.

What started as an incubated initiative called Sanghamitra Urban Programme (SUP) has evolved into Jana Small Finance Bank, an organization committed to making the best of banking products and services available across all strata of society!

Jana’s roots can be traced back to an outstanding microfinance institution called Sanghamitra Rural Financial Services (SRFS) — set up by one of India’s most respected rural NGOs, Myrada (Mysore Resettlement and Development Agency).

Our first group loan in October 2000, marked the earliest instance of urban microfinance in India. Within a span of 16 months, we had loaned INR 10 million towards helping the underserved populace gain a better quality of life.

Realizing that the answer lay in setting up a full-service microfinance institution, we also transformed to Janalakshmi Financial Services (JFS) in 2006. JFS was primarily focused on improving the lives of the urban poor.

Over time, JFS gained a global recognition as one of the world’s most trusted and innovative financial institutions, working on the problem of financial inclusion. In November 2015, we received the popular "Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame" award. In March 2016, JFS also received the VCCircle award for the "Best financial services firm in India" that had received venture capital funding.

The Bank recognizes that one of its fundamental responsibilities is to ensure that the Bank protects personal information entrusted to the Bank by its customers. Applicability

The Bank collects three types of information: personal, sensitive personal data and non-personal

Personal information means any information that relates to a natural person, which either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available with the Bank, is capable of identifying such person (e.g., telephone number, name, address, transaction history etc.).

Sensitive personal data or information of a person means such personal information which consists of information relating to passwords, financial information such as Bank account or credit card or debit card or other payment instrument details, sexual orientation, physical physiological and mental health condition, medical records and history, biometric information, details of nominees and national identifiers including but not limited to: Aadhaar card, passport number, income, PAN, etc. For customers enrolled in services provided by the Bank, such as online bill payment, personal information about the transaction is collected.

Any information that is freely available or accessible in public domain or furnished under the Right to Information Act, 2005 or any other law for the time being in force shall not be regarded as sensitive personal data or information for the purpose of these rules.

The information customers provide online is held by the Bank business that maintains the account or is processing the application for a new product or service.

Non personal information includes the IP address of the device used to connect to the Bank’s website along with other information such as browser details, operating system used, the name of the website that redirected the visitor to the Bank’s website, etc. Also, when you browse our site or receive one of our emails, the Bank and our affiliated companies, use cookies and/or pixel tags to collect information and store your online preferences.

This Policy is applicable to personal information (including sensitive personal information) collected by the Bank directly from the customer or through the Bank’s online portals, electronic communications as also any information collected by the Bank’s server from the customer’s browser.

Accuracy

The Bank shall have processes in place to ensure that the personal information residing with it is complete, accurate and current. If at any point of time, there is a reason to believe that personal information residing with the Bank is incorrect, the customer should inform the Bank in this regard. The Bank shall correct the erroneous information as quickly as possible.

Purpose of collection and Usage of Personal Information

The Bank shall use the information collected to manage its business and offer an enhanced, personalized online experience on its website. Further, it shall enable the Bank to:

Process applications, requests and transactions

Maintain internal records as per regulatory guidelines

Provide services to customers, including responding to customer requests

Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Recognize the customer when he conducts online banking

Understand the needs and provide relevant product and service offers

If a customer does not wish to provide consent for usage of its sensitive personal data or information or later withdraws the consent, the Bank shall have the right not to provide services or to withdraw the services for which the information was sought from the customer.

Disclosure/ Sharing of Information

The Bank shall not disclose personal information of its customers without their prior consent unless such disclosure has been agreed to in a contract between the body corporate and customer, or where the disclosure is necessary for compliance of a legal obligation. In-case Bank discloses the personal information to Third Parties, such Third Parties shall be bound contractually to ensure that they protect customer personal information in accordance with applicable laws.

The above obligations relating to sharing of personal data or information shall not apply to information shared with government mandated under the law to obtain such information or by an order under law for the time being in force. Further, if any personal data or information is freely available or accessible in the public domain, the Bank shall not have any obligations regarding the same.

No specific information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable data shall be shared with nonaffiliated third parties unless any of the following conditions is met:

To help complete a transaction initiated by the customer

To perform support services through an outsourced entity provided it conforms to the Privacy Policy of the Bank

The customer/ applicant has specifically authorized it

To conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process

The information is shared with Government agencies mandated under law

The information is shared with any third party by an order under the law

Enforce the terms and conditions of the products or services

Act to protect the rights, interests or property of the Bank, or its members, constituents or of other person

Security Practices

The security of personal information is a priority and shall be ensured by maintaining physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that meet applicable laws to protect customer information against loss, misuse, damage and unauthorized access, modifications or disclosures. Employees shall be trained in the proper handling of personal information. When other companies are used to provide services on behalf of the Bank, it shall ensure that such companies protect the confidentiality of personal information they receive in the same manner the Bank protects. The Bank shall continuously review and enhance its security policies and security measures to consistently maintain a high level of security.

Amendments

The Bank shall reserve the right to change or update this Policy or practice, at any time with reasonable notice to customers on Bank’s website so that customers are always aware of the information which is collected, for what purpose Bank uses it, and under what circumstances, if any, Bank may disclose it.

Ultimately, the motive of opting for a financial resolution is empowering your money, to empower you!

Regardless of what goal you choose, a simple resolution can get you there. It has the potential to put you in control of your money and also allows you to dictate its direction – provided you religiously follow it!

To begin with – identify what you want your money to do for you? Only when that is clear, go ahead.

  • Saving
    If Saving is your intention for the year 2017; be it for a rainy day, a down payment, a dream trip, your child’s education or anything else, you can easily make it happen!
    Begin by automating your savings. It’s really hard to do a 'saving' transfer on your own. Automated savings force you to follow through because the cash is drawn directly from your bank before you can get your hands on it.
    And if you have just begun with Savings, then you must also remember to create an "Emergency Fund" as well. You never know when a crisis can strike – the money that you put away as savings can save you in good and the bad times.

  • Paying off debt
    To begin with – not all debts are equal. Make a list of all your liabilities, organize them by the annual interest rate, and those with the highest rates (most likely your credit card debt) should be paid off immediately. If you’re paying 19% or 20% in interest each year, your investments could turn out to be a futile effort, because such expenses end up chewing up the profits you make.
    Another thing to consider is to stop piling on to existing debt and start living within means. How? By setting a realistic budget for yourself, keeping in mind your income and expenses! And sticking to it.
    And finally, as with savings, you could automate those debt payments as well!

  • Spending Less
    Here’s the trick – first, keeping in mind your income and expenses, define what a bigger purchase is. Step 2, whenever you go out to shop, if a situation arises where you need to make a bigger purchase, give yourself at least a 24-hour waiting period, to make the decision. Also ask yourself what you’re giving up in return of this purchase. How important is it for you? Whether you really need it or want it?

  • Bonus Resolution: Earning More
    When we talk about improving finances, it is a human tendency to turn to 'rigour' measures like paying off debt or spending less. What people rarely consider is - making more money. When in fact, this should top the list.
    So you could figure out ways to enhance your earnings - either by putting your time to better use or by putting your money where it would earn you more.

Whatever the case– always remember, all of your financial dreams are achievable; the trick is to set your sights on a goal, and have the “resolution” to see it through.

So what’s your resolution for 2017?

Most of us would relate to the fact that our grandparents (for some, even parents) had enough stories to tell. Stories of how they survived the financially tough times of their life. These wise and valuable lessons taught us the importance of valuing money.

Here are some worthwhile lessons from yesteryears that could come handy to us and our generation next…

  • Live within means and save for emergency
    Having lived through some very difficult times, our grandparents very well understood the pain of not having money when you needed it the most, and had invented the idea of ‘Emergency funds’ for a reason. They always made sure to place some share of the income aside - 'just in case'.
    So if we are 'living a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget’, it is time we stopped, and got into the habit of regular savings like our grandparents, and invest in the right opportunities. This also includes putting aside some money for emergencies.

  • Be patient
    Investing requires patience, more than you think! Although a rare virtue today, but when our grandparents initiated an investment, they never ever thought about withdrawing. They stood patiently as their wealth continued to reach to its handsome maturity proceeds.
    Today, with people actively investing in SIPs, Mutual Funds, etc., this advice holds even greater relevance. The lesson to remember here is, never break your investments unless absolutely necessary; and while investing in a volatile market, stay committed to see the investment through the worst times.

  • Add new debt only when you can afford it
    With banks competing with each other to attract more and more business, taking a loan has become easy and quicker than ever. In no time, the money is sitting in your account. What we tend to forget is that if our EMIs eat up too much from our earnings, critical financial goals like retirement planning, kids education, investments, could take a hit.
    The lesson here is to avoid unnecessary debts. Never take a loan impulsively, just because it is available easily. Take the ones that you have planned for and can easily repay.

Remember to act on the money lessons you would wish to pass along to your grandchildren!

It's been a while since the savings-minded India started exhibiting a change in trend. As opposed to earlier, when 'saving' just meant being penny-wise, and 'savings' was referred when money was literally saved; people were now realizing that safe-keeping the savings at home wasn’t really the safest or the smartest thing to do.

As more-and-more people got educated about investments, Indian audience gradually expanded its horizon of Investments. They now understood that –– Saving & Investing, go hand-in-hand, and to be able to invest, you need to first start saving.

  • Fixed Deposits
    A secure investment that earns you anything between 6% and 8.25%! If you don't wish to lock away your funds for a long duration, try the 'Laddering' approach. Laddering helps spread the investment amount across different maturities and provides liquidity to funds. Each "rung" of the ladder is an FD of a specific maturity date, and the "height" of the ladder is the difference between the shortest and the longest maturity FD.

  • PPF
    The Public Provident Fund (PPF) that currently offers 8.1%, is a preferred instrument for planning and achieving long-term goals. In the last few years, besides other nationalized banks, private banks have also started offering this service. You also get to enjoy tax-free interest and withdrawals, and tax-deductible investments.

  • National Pension Scheme
    The interest rates depend on the scheme chosen and vary every financial year. NPS is promoted by the Government of India and is considered to be among the best retirement plans in India. It not only offers great returns on investment but also comes with a lot of flexibilities that help in choosing the investment options.

  • Post Office Saving Schemes
    This is said to be one of the oldest way to invest your money and enjoy guaranteed returns with the least amount of risk. The offerings include RDs, Time Deposits, Monthly Income Schemes, National Savings Certificates, Kisan Vikas Patra, and Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts.

Other than these, here's a list of some of the investment options that fall outside the safety net of guaranteed returns…

  • Mutual Funds
    Two popular funds here are – Debt & Equity! Debt Mutual Funds mainly invest in a mix of debt or fixed income securities such as Government Securities, Corporate Bonds, etc., while Equity Funds typically invest in stocks of companies. For beginners, it will be a good idea to start off with an SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) of a small amount and gradually increase the investment.

  • Direct Equity
    This refers to a direct investment in a business enterprise, in against for equity in the enterprise. The returns from equity have been more rewarding than all other asset class. But direct equity investing is also considered to be a risky proposition. So it is advised to get involved only after doing the necessary research about the company’s background, user base, returns over the years, and any other information that you can find.

  • Real Estate Investments
    In a country like India, where land is limited and the population is booming, owning a property is a dream for the most. But when you do invest in real estate, make sure to look for a location that is developing or is developed, or else, it would take a lot of time before you’d be able to monetize your investment.
