Ram’s family’s financial struggles as farmers and labourers meant that he had to work various odd jobs from a young age to support his and his siblings’ education. He heard about Jana Small Finance Bank when his mother-in-law applied for a group loan. When work related visits resulted in interactions with various Jana Centre staff, Ram took an interest in the Bank, and was soon an employee. Today, with stable employment and a promising career, he helps his family and supports his wife as she pursues her Master’s degree.
