Born and brought up in a large family, Abutalep’s life had been mapped out for him – to follow his father’s profession in a jute mill in West Bengal. Unsatisfied with the work environment, Abutalep joined V Group as a security guard at Dunlop Jana Centre, Kolkata. Even as a security guard, he involved himself in Jana Small Finance Bank’s work, and soon, he knew it as well as, if not better than, any employee in the Jana Centre. His dedication was noticed, and he was offered employment with the Bank. Today, Abutalep is a proud Jana Banker.
